Top hint for this course
Allow us to spill a secret for you. On the 8th, the right side of the fairway is the best option. A great drive favouring this side will open the opportunity for an approach shot as your second. If your approach is neat, there's a great chance for a birdie, dare we say an eagle?
Full Course Lowdown
Every golf fanatic has the same dream. What's that dream? To play on traditional Scottish Links, with its challenging terrain and natural hazards with like-minded enthusiasts.
You can make that dream come true. This old coastal loop boasts many different challenges across its sublime fairways and varied greens. Grab the gang for the ultimate trip to St Andrews and discover these near-mythical status fairways.
Course
From the 1st hole, the terrain tests your golfing IQ. A mound guards the green, so it's best to aim short of these to set up an easier second shot. Bunkers also lay around the front and back of the dancefloor.
The end of the front nine demands a drive towards the back of the green as there's a ridge that throws off shots short of the dancefloor. This hole does not feature any bunkers.
The start of the back nine demands a long drive and the approach shot is similar. The green is tiny and slopes from left to right downwards (we never said it was easy).
On the 14th, the dancefloor isn't visible. If you drive down the left of the fairway, it will set up a second shot where the green is in sight but beware of the ridges in front of the green.
The final hole requires a drive down the right side of the fairway. This'll set up a sweeter second shot but be cautious of the out-of-bounds behind the green. So don't overhit.
Clubhouse
As if it couldn't get any better, the 19th hole offers many facilities from lockers to showers. The Tom Morris Bar & Grill, named after the legendary architect, provides authentic and comforting Scottish cuisine.
Eating hearty Scottish food in a cosy clubhouse on a links course; if that isn't golfing heritage then we don't know what is.
While overlooking the loop you conquered, count your scorecards, and discuss the world-class experience. It's a historical bar and a necessity for any Scottish golf history buffs.Course Facilities
