Top hint for this course
Take your time with the 17th, a par-3, with a well-protected green. Any shanks will find the deep bunkers on either side of the dancefloor, and the putting is harsh!
Full Course Lowdown
The Queens's Course is a cracking round for high-handicaps and duffers, at a small 68 par and less than 6,00 yards.
It's still a world-class round, with plenty of hazards, risk-reward shots, and unforgettable fairways. How will you handle Braid's challenges? Tee off and find out.
Course
On the opener, hit the right of the fairway to get ahead of your friends, and prepare for a chip shot on the approach to carry the bunker.
The 4th, a par-4, is nasty. From the tee, favour the centre of the fairway, and take an extra club to hit the pin on the elevated dancefloor. Which club will you use?
Birdie opp alert! This par-4 is reachable in two strokes, so if you have that in your locker, open your shoulders from the tee box and take an extra club for the approach.
The 13th par-3 features a lake on the right side. Use a short iron, as it's only 140 from the back tee, and hit the back of the dancefloor to avoid the bunkers.
What an end to the round. Five bunkers surround the green (no surprise there), so you should set up an open approach to the green from the right side. Read the green and sink that putt.
Clubhouse
Head to the legendary Dormy, which boasts a packed menu with fish and chips, massive Aberdeen Angus steaks, juicy burgers, and curry--meals fit for a champ.
This casual dining experience is an ideal setting to grab a well-earned pint and laugh at the awful bunker shots and slices. Perfect.Course Facilities
