Top hint for this course
Here's a secret for the 14th. Accuracy is vital to stay ahead on the scorecards; anything wayward will make for a difficult second shot. Favour the middle left of the fairway, as there are bunkers on the right and tricky links terrain surrounding the entire dancefloor.
Full Course Lowdown
Clive Clark managed to create a top links course using the natural undulated and earthy Scottish coastal terrain. Many claim it's one of the best they've played, with typically deep and difficult bunkers and challenging layouts.
Golf links enthusiasts will create unforgettable memories playing a round here as it's links in its truest form. Grab your clubs, get the squad together, and battle it out on the fairways.
Course
The 1st is a forgiving start. Tee off and land on the generous fairway to gain some yardage before hitting an approach towards the green. Anything overhit will hit the sand, so it's best to under-hit.
On the 7th, a par-5, a harsh dogleg right makes the track difficult to navigate. Big hitters should aim right over the initial bunkers for the easiest second shot. Beware of the front bunkers on the green.
At the start of the back nine, a firm shot should find the fairway, and cautious players will lay up before the water hazard. If you've got the distance in your locker, carry over the water towards the green.
The finish requires avoiding deep bunkers-classic link-style. Favour the left of the fairway throughout and use a chip shot towards the pin. Now put the game to bed and celebrate.
Clubhouse
Relax in the comforting atmosphere while you marvel at the fairways you conquered. Grab a drink and laugh at the mate who couldn't avoid the bunkers. Maybe he should get the first round.
As you absolutely crushed the course, why not tuck into a juicy 8oz Ribeye, and wash it back with some authentic Scotch whiskey? "When in St. Andrews."Course Facilities
