Top hint for this course
The opening hole is a par-3 with deep bunkers surrounding the green. At only 158 yards from the furthest tee, you can easily reach the dancefloor in one, so use a mid-iron and go straight for it. Providing you clear the bunkers, there's a birdie chance.
Full Course Lowdown
An example of why Scotland is the holy grail of golf. Rich in history, links characteristics and challenging hazards, it's a real bucket lister.
While it's a links layout, the short yardage of the fairways and the par should provide golfers with a smooth and enjoyable round.
Course
On the 2nd, a par-5 that many will enjoy because it's reachable in two strokes. Certainly another birdie chance, or dare we say eagle? Bunkers guard the front of the green on either side, but a straight shot should avoid these.
Another one for the big hitters. The 7th is a 382-yard par-4 with bunkers mainly down the left of the fairway. Favouring the right side from tee-off will avoid these and you should be putting in no time.
The 11th is a tiny par-4 at 294 yards, so this is an excellent chance for a birdie if you've got the accuracy in your locker.
The final hole also finishes with a short par-4. At 250 yards, it's an easygoing finish for those able to hit the green from tee-off-a big hitter's dream.
Clubhouse
A trip back in time. One for golf history fanatics, this 19th hole was built in 1898 and has maintained many features from this period.
It's famous for its warm and welcoming atmosphere for members and visitors. And let's not forget the international selection of whiskies, wines, and ales on offer. So grab some swing oil and refuel with some hearty Scottish classics to set you up for the day.
