Top hint for this course
Tee off is in front of the car park, so most people show off with a big drive and end up in the sand. Beware of the bunker most people don't see in the middle of the fairway by driving down the left.
Full Course Lowdown
The course is inspired by many links designs and being located on the East Lothian coast, it replicates the layout effortlessly. Throughout the years, it's hosted many tournaments because of its many tests and challenging natural hazards.
Definitely a bucket-lister for groups of keen golfers looking to conquer Scotland.
Course
Starting with the 3rd, a par-3 with bunkers on either side of the dancefloor. Take your time and choose accuracy over distance, as you can easily miss the green here.
The end of the front nine is a par-4, easily reachable in two strokes, with bunkers being the only hazard. On top of the distance, the generous fairway invites some big swings, with the bunker in the middle causing the most trouble.
The 11th is a lengthy par-5, with distance being the only issue. Big hitters will love this one-the wide fairways mean you can hit a real scorcher off the tee box.
The end of the loop finishes with another par-5, but this one is difficult. The bunkers surrounding the green cause a problem for those trying to gain yardage. Use a shot to lay up before the bunkers, so you don't get caught in the sand.
Clubhouse
The 19th at Craigielaw Golf Club provides local beers, rare Scotch whiskey, classic clubhouse snacks and homemade baking. So enjoy the comfort of the bar while you sip local ales and refuel with your favourite post-round snack.
Count up the scorecards, decide the forfeits for the duffer of the round and prepare for hitting the town in the evening.
