How about a tip for the 17th? Aim as close to the initial left bunker as possible without hitting it. From here the green should be in sight and achievable from the midway point. Anything under-hit or overhit will find trouble.

Full Course Lowdown

A world top 100 according to Golf World, and numero uno in Spain. Plenty of visitors and fans have nicknamed the course "The Augusta of Europe". Although it's a bold claim, we agree. It's the cream of the crop. How often do you get the chance to play a top 100?

Follow in the footsteps of the 1997 Ryder Cup legends and discover the endless perfections of one of the finest loops you might ever play. Bring you're A-game, prepare for the highest standards, and enjoy a round for the history books with the gang.

Course

The opening hole has a harshly narrow fairway. Slices and hooks are not welcome here. A firm, central drive to cover the yardage will prepare for a second shot where accuracy is vital to approach the green.

Hole 5 requires navigation. This par-4 has strategically placed bunkers on either side of both the fairway and dancefloor. The green opens towards the back, so aim towards the second half to guarantee a landing shot.

A par-3 on the 6th separates the brave from the cautious. Will aim straight for the bunker-plagued green or layup short for a simple chip to the pin? We'll let you decide.

The 7th, a par-5, has a slight dogleg right. Bunkers are placed awkwardly in the sweet spot for your drive, so aim slightly right of the left bunker for the best second shot. Now the approach: guarded by water and bunkers front and back-accuracy is important.

Clubhouse

Take your pick from two dining areas. Do you fancy fine dining and authentic Spanish cuisine in the Valderrama Restaurant or 19th-hole classic comforts at the Spike Bar? Either way, we're sure you'll grab an ice-cold pint to celebrate the round.
