Top hint for this course
Here's a tip for the opening hole. Favour the left of the fairway from tee off as this provides the clearest open to the green. Avoid the right of the fairway as trees will complicate the approach. The green is downhill, so use your IQ to select your club to cover the distance.
Full Course Lowdown
A masterpiece of a course in Spain. One of the best in Sotogrande, and it comes as no surprise with its unique challenges throughout the course, the testing terrain, and the stunning landscape. It's a rare round that both the duffer and scratch golfers could enjoy together.
Get a team of mixed-ability players together and enjoy the thrills of Perry Dye's excitingly crafted loop.
Course
The 2nd is an excellent par-5, with a wide fairway that is absolutely begging for a scorcher off the tee box. A slight dogleg right with several bunkers might catch you out. Avoid this; you're in for a par-or maybe a birdie.
On the 8th, a par-3, a bunker large enough to be a beach sits on the left. Keeping to the right here is obvious, with an approach from the right also being the easiest.
At the 15th, an uphill par-4 is an intimidating hole. A firm drive up the fairway should put the green in sight; avoid both the left and right sides. And beware of the undulated green, it takes concentration.
What a finisher. A hole where the game is won or lost. The dancefloor is reachable in two strokes, so favour slightly left to avoid the water and lay up before the green. Take extra care with the approach-the green is swift-anything overhit from this angle will hit the water.
Clubhouse
One hell of a fancy 19th. Prepare for some of the best clubhouse scran you've ever had-international and locally-inspired dishes-all with locally sourced ingredients. You'll be eating like a PGA Tour after your round.
Kick back and relax while counting the scorecards, enjoying an ice-cold pint, and planning out the roadmap for the evening.
