Top hint for this course
On the end of the back nine, favour the left-hand side of the fairway from the tee box. This will set up the best angle for an approach shot once you've cancelled out the dogleg left. Next, hit an approach towards the back on the green to avoid the bunkers and land safely.
Full Course Lowdown
This course is not for the faint-hearted. It presents challenges to every aspect of the game with bunkers, water hazards, undulating greens, and fairways, so it's a great chance to find out who is the true group champ.
Course
The opener is a 471-yard par-5 with little hazards, so it's an easygoing starter. Avoid the first bunker to the right, and the three bunkers surrounding the sides of the green and you're sorted for the first hole.
The 5th holds a harsh dogleg left that hides the green. Favour the right of the fairway from the tee box and it should put the green in sight. From there, avoiding the bunkers around the green is key, so a layup shot could be sensible.
The 11th is a true test of an accurate drive, with a narrow, tree-lined fairway (lumberjacks beware). Otherwise, the green is generous, with only one bunker guarding, making the approach simple.
Again, at the end of the back nine, a narrow fairway tests accuracy off the tee. A firm straight drive down the middle should put the green within reach. Two trees guard the green, meaning accuracy is demanded before you sink the last putt.
Clubhouse
A classic clubhouse. No-frills, just how many visitors like it. A cosy atmosphere, an informal setting, and a menu with sandwiches, home comforts and huge club sandwiches for golfers looking to unwind after an intense 18 holes with the squad.
Whether you want that morning caffeine boost with a coffee or pre-drinks for the evening ahead with some swing oil, this place has all you could need.
