Golf

This is where Slaley Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort really shines. The Hunting Course, designed by Dave Thomas, plays to a par of 72 and is almost 7,100 yards through towering pines, water and streams. It hosted the European Tour's Great North Open from 1996 to 2002, with Colin Montgomerie, Lee Westwood and Retief Goosen among the winners. Look out for the 9th, a 444-yard par 4 over water, and the signature par 3 6th! The Priestman Course, guided by Neil Coles and opened in 1999, is a par 72 on higher ground with sweeping views over the Tyne Valley. Playing both makes a brilliant two-day break.

Dining & Drink

Hadrian's Brasserie is the main restaurant, serving classic British and international dishes, with breakfast before you head out. The Claret Jug is the clubhouse bar and restaurant overlooking the course, perfect for a pint and a bite after your round. For something special, Duke's Grill & Whisky Snug serves grill dishes and a great range of whiskies. The ideal spot to settle the day's bets!

Location & Transport

Slaley Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort is located near the village of Slaley, around a 15-minute drive from the market town of Hexham in Northumberland. Newcastle city centre is around 25 miles away, and Newcastle International Airport is roughly 40 minutes by car. Hexham railway station is on the Newcastle to Carlisle line, and there's free parking on site for groups driving up. Hadrian's Wall is close by if you fancy a day off the course!
