The Best Golf Courses in Costa Navarino

Costa Navarino's four courses are split across three areas of the estate. Here's what to expect from each.

The Dunes Course

Costa Navarino's original course, The Dunes was designed by Bernhard Langer and opened in 2010. It runs through dunes and olive groves beside the sea, with undulating fairways and views of the Ionian from holes like the 2nd. It hosts the Aegean Airlines Pro-Am and is ranked in Golf World's top 100 in Continental Europe.

The Bay Course

A few minutes away, Robert Trent Jones Jr.'s The Bay is shorter and more strategic, with tree-lined holes and carefully placed bunkers. The par 3 2nd runs right alongside Navarino Bay, and the course hosts the Legends Tour Trophy.

The Hills and the International Olympic Academy Course

Opened in 2022, Navarino Hills is home to two José María Olazábal designs. The Hills Course has elevated tees and greens, big elevation changes and plenty of risk-and-reward shots.

The International Olympic Academy Course is the first of its kind in the world. It's a demanding layout with undulating fairways, firm greens and water in play on the 9th.

When Is the Best Time to Play Golf in Costa Navarino?

Spring (March May)

Warm days, wild flowers in the olive groves and courses in excellent condition. This is a popular time for golf groups, so book early.

Summer (June August)

Hot and sunny, with the resort at its busiest. Tee off early and spend the afternoon on the beach or by the pool.

Autumn (September November)

Arguably the best time to visit. The sea is still warm, the summer crowds have gone and temperatures are ideal for golf.

Winter (December February)

Mild and quiet, with some rain. Courses stay open, but direct UK flights to Kalamata are limited, so you may need to fly via Athens.
