Top hint for this course
On the 9th, take an extra club to avoid the bunkers at the front of the green and cover the lengthy distance of this par-3. Don't underestimate it.
Full Course Lowdown
Golf del Sur is steeped in history. It's one of Tenerife's most famous courses, at the top of visitors' bucket lists and a regular host of tournaments.
Pack your bags, hop on the plane to sunny Tenerife, and tackle this challenging 9-hole combination with the gang. Can you dodge the infamous volcanic ash bunkers?
Course
The opener is a par-4, with the tee box in front of the clubhouse, so don't choke. Hit the centre of the fairway for a strong start and be careful on the approach to the well-guarded, tiny green.
Harsh.
On the 4th, things don't ease up. A layup shot is needed before the drink if you want to play cautiously, but big hitters will carry the water from a distance.
At the 8th, a bunker guards the front of the green, so don't be deceived by the clear fairway at the start.
Prepare for a zigzag approach on the 12th (you'll need patience). Play from right to left, and then favour the right of the green to score less than the crew. Light work, right?
To finish, cover yardage with your driver and don't slice it, or you'll hit the bunkers. Not ideal. If you avoid the bunkers, hit the right of the green to avoid any trouble on the left.
Clubhouse
Forget uncomfortable seats, quick meals, and a tight space, and enter table clothes, fine dining, and an outdoor terrace. It's easy to forget you're in a 19th hole here.
Don't worry, there are casual seats for a laid-back experience.
After your round, get stuck into your favourite Spanish plates and crack open a bottle of wine to share with the gang. Perfect.Course Facilities

The Location
Golf del Sur boasts a magical combination of entertainment and quiet surroundings.
If you don't fancy the massive party atmosphere of Playa de las Americas, Golf del Sur offers the opposite, without sacrificing restaurants and bars.
Hotel Tenerife Golf & Sea View is a cracking option, only 3.5km from the course.
At 1.9km away is Amarilla Golf Club, a previous European Tour host. As well as this, the course has a buggy bar, meaning you can have ice-cold swing oil delivered as you play. Outrageous.
On top of this, Tenerife South Airport is only 6km away, so it's roughly 15 minutes in a taxi.
Sorted.
