Top hint for this course
We've got a tip for the 3rd. Because of the length and bunkers, we suggest favouring the right side of the fairway from the tee-off. This way, you'll avoid the bunkers and cut off the dogleg for the second shot.
Full Course Lowdown
Many magazines recognise Yas Links as a top-class loop and having hosted the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship it's not hard to see why.
Kyle Philips' attempt to replicate a links course with the desert terrain has been recognised as a success. It poses unique challenges and tests even the big drivers' skills with its intimidating length. Grab your clubs and try to school the gang on these Arabian links.
Course
The 6th is straightforward. At 467 yards, this par-4 has as little as three bunkers surrounding the green, with only one at the front of the fairway.
At the end of the front nine, you're required to carry over the water (one of the squad may need a mulligan here). Be sure to avoid the bunkers when landing on the fairway, before taking a steady approach towards the green without losing your ball to the water.
On the 13th, a par-3, you face a risk-and-reward scenario. Carry over the water and onto the green for a birdie, but without accuracy, you could land in either the water or sand traps. The safe option is to navigate around the fairway.
To finish, an unforgiving par-5 sitting at 646 yards. Carry over the water, avoid the initial bunker, aim slightly right of the fairway, and then prepare for the approach. If you avoided all the hazards-get ready to putt the game to bed.
Clubhouse
Get ready for Hickory's Restaurant & Bar. Not your usual 19th-hole classics, this kitchen offers authentic Japanese cuisine and dining culture. Prepare for a flavour overload like no other, this isn't your boring sandwich and chips!
Celebrate with your favourite pint of swing oil while you tuck into your scran and count up the scorecards.

The Location
The nearest golf course to the airport we've seen. Yas Links Abu Dhabi is just 7.6km from the course, so why not stop here on your way to the hotel? You can never play the first round too early on holiday.
A few hotels are nearby, so accommodation is a breeze to sort. If you're looking for a city centre location, it's only 33.3km from the course. Staying here provides an authentic experience of the lavish lifestyle in Abu Dhabi: restaurants, bars, beaches, and clubs.
