Gary Player Country Club

Gary Player Country Club is the jewel of South African golf. Set at Sun City in the North West Province, it's built inside an ancient volcanic crater, with bush, lakes and wildlife all around. The Course

Designed by Gary Player with Ron Kirby and opened in 1979, Gary Player Country Club measures just over 7,150 metres (7,820 yards) from the tips and plays to a par of 72. It's the only course in the world to officially carry Gary Player's name, and it has hosted nearly 100 professional tour events.

Expect wide kikuyu fairways, slick bent greens and strategically placed bunkers and water guarding the greens. Stray off the fairway and you'll find thick African bush. It's long, it's demanding and it's beautifully kept. We love that you can play exactly the same holes as the world's best!

Signature Holes

Hole 9: Par 5
The signature hole, with an island green that tempts the longest hitters to go for it in two. Lay up, or take on the water? Whatever you choose, it's one of the most memorable shots you'll ever play!

Hole 17: Par 4
Built for the 2003 Nedbank Challenge, the 17th is one of the toughest holes on the course and often one of the hardest at the tournament. Find the fairway, commit to your approach and a par here feels like a birdie.

The Clubhouse

The clubhouse at Gary Player Country Club has a restaurant, bar and terrace overlooking the course, plus a well-stocked pro shop. It's the perfect place to relax after your round and relive the best shots.

With the Gary Player Spa, Sun City's hotels and the Lost City Golf Course all close by, there's plenty to enjoy off the course too.
