Top hint for this course

Let's give you a tip for the 15th to beat your buddies. Aim towards the rock on the right side of the fairway. This way you can lay up on the right-hand side for a chip approach shot onto the difficultly small green.

Course Top Tip

Overview

During the summer of 2008, another legendary course was added to the world-class roster at St Andrews Links, and it doesn't disappoint.

In typical links fashion, the mounds throughout the layout cause issues for those who don't navigate carefully.

Experience golf in its truest form, settle into the home of golf, grab the gang, and discover the hype around Scotland. The Highlands are home to the best tracks in the UK; get your clubs and check it out.

Course

On the 2nd, most players are baited into shortcuts. Don't do this. Keep left and take an extra club for the approach as the flag is further away than it looks.

For the 7th, favour the right side but don't aim to clear too much yardage. A layup here might be best, as the mounds disrupt shots from a distance.

At the end of the front nine, a risk-reward hole waits. Aim left for the best second shot but remember it demands a further carry. Hit the last fairway bunker for the simplest approach towards an elevated dancefloor.

Hole 13, a par-3, where a cautious approach is best. Aim left of the dancefloor to avoid the bunkers and feed the ball onto the green.

A cracking finisher. This par-5, featuring a dogleg right, demands accuracy as well as distance. Look to hit before the second bunker, leaving generous space for the approach shot.

Clubhouse

The famous Tom Morris Bar & Grill was built in dedication to the golfing legend. Sticking to his Scottish roots, the kitchen serves traditional Scottish food and drink in a casual setting for maximum authenticity.

From the classic sandwiches and burgers to huge fillet steaks, there's something for everybody to enjoy.

As for drinks, it's got to be Scotch. Check out the impressive whiskey menu, sold by region, for a genuine taste of the Highlands. You should treat yourself after that blinder of a performance.
