Overview

The world-renowned S&A course is a legendary links layout located in England's world-class North West Golf Coast, the host of two Ryder Cups and plenty of Amateur Championships.

Historic fairways. Fast greens. Undulating terrain. Prepare for a test of your accuracy and IQ as you battle your win to each pin. Seriously, your short game has never been tested like this.

James Braid designed one of the golf coast's finest (unsurprisingly), and the top-tier practice facilities and welcoming clubhouse match. It's time to tee up and swing into action. Are you ready?

Course

Harshly, any approach shot overhit on this par-3 could push your ball 20 yards away. Mid to high handicappers should hit a layup, and then choose their club carefully for the chip to the elevated dancefloor.

On the 16th, some of the largest dunes in the UK threaten any worm-burners, which is then followed by a wedge towards the elevated and well-bunkered green.

To finish, the 18th is a cracking end to the round, with grassy dunes and an unforgiving rough, where the fairway bends towards the clubhouse. Now, sink that winning putt in front of the audience! No pressure...

Clubhouse

Overlooking the 18th green, this modern clubhouse has maintained all the vital history for golfers to experience the greatness of the club.

Why not check out the Ryder Cup Room, with original trophies and pictures from the tournament?

Head to the clubhouse lounge or terrace, and get stuck into an informal meal, where all the classics are provided to refuel, from full English to seafood dishes.

The Location

Southport & Ainsdale Golf Club is located on the notorious North West Golf Coast, so after you conquer S&A, why not head 10.2 miles south to West Lancashire Golf Club?

Ainsdale, the local town, boasts a handful of restaurants, bars, and fish and chips shops for a true English coastal experience.

There aren't many accommodation options in Ainsdale, but Liverpool city centre is just 15.7 miles away, with plenty of hotels for all pockets and preferences.

Liverpool has the magical combination of culture and bouncing nightlife.

Whether you check out the rich music history or significant landmarks, the heaving bars and nightclubs, or the range of restaurants, Liverpool is a top-tier city to celebrate in after breaking 90.

S&A is 0.6 miles from Ainsdale Train Station, so if you're travelling on the train, it's easy to get to.

If you're staying in Liverpool, the Lime Street Train Station is a great way to head to S&A for your morning tee time.

For anybody arriving by car, this area is dead simple to reach from anywhere in the UK.
