Overview
Verdura Shore Course lives up to its name. Formerly known as the West Course, it builds towards a stunning finish right beside the Mediterranean, with sea views stretching across the back nine. It's links-style golf in the Sicilian sunshine - and if you love a challenge with a view, Verdura Shore Course is for you!
The Course
Designed by Kyle Phillips and opened in 2009, Verdura Shore Course measures 6,547 metres (7,160 yards) from the back tees and plays to a par of 70. It plays even more like a links than its sister course, with broad, rambling fairways outlined by deep fescue roughs.
There's no easing in! Three lengthy par 4s start the round, followed by the first of five par 3s. The front nine winds up through the estate, while the back nine descends towards the sea. The greens are tricky throughout, so bring your putting A-game. We love the stretch from 8 to 12 - it's a real highlight.
Signature Holes
Hole 17 - Seaside Approach
One of the holes that runs right along the Mediterranean. With the sea breeze in play and water views all around, club selection is everything. Enjoy the view, then focus!
Hole 18 - The Finale
A brilliant finishing hole heading back towards the traditional Sicilian clubhouse, with the Mediterranean alongside. It's the perfect crescendo to a memorable round, finish with a par and head straight for a drink on the terrace!
The Clubhouse
The clubhouse at Verdura Shore Course is a traditional Sicilian building overlooking the finishing hole, home to the Golf Club Lounge. Grab a coffee before you tee off, or relax with a drink and watch groups come up the 18th.
With the resort's restaurants, spa and private beach close by, it's the perfect base for a luxury golf break.

The Location
Verdura Shore Course is part of Verdura Golf & Spa Resort, set on 230 hectares of Mediterranean coastline near the historic spa town of Sciacca, on Sicily's southwest coast. Palermo Airport is roughly 90 minutes away by road, with Trapani Airport a similar distance. The resort has sea-view rooms, the Irene Forte Spa and a private beach right on site, and the famous Valley of the Temples at Agrigento makes a brilliant rest-day excursion - perfect for a luxury golf break in Sicily.
