Overview
PGA National Cyprus Championship Course is the jewel of golf in Cyprus. Set at Aphrodite Hills Resort near Paphos, just a kilometre from the coast, it's the island's leading championship venue and has hosted the European Tour's Cyprus Open. Dramatic ravines, olive groves and sea views at every turn make PGA National Cyprus Championship Course a must-play!
The Course
Designed by Cabell B. Robinson and opened in 2002, PGA National Cyprus Championship Course measures 6,290 metres (6,879 yards) from the back tees and plays to a par of 71. A €2.5 million renovation in 2018 prepared it for European Tour golf, and conditions remain excellent.
The course is routed over two plateaux separated by a deep ravine, which brings real drama to the round. Expect lush Bermuda fairways, pot bunkers and large tiered greens. There are four par 5s, two partly guarded by water, and some spectacular par 3s. Because of the terrain, buggies are a must, and we think the ride between holes is part of the adventure!
Signature Holes
Hole 3: Par 5
A brute of a par 5 stretching to 573 metres from the back tees, with a 200-metre carry over the chasm. Get your tee shot away and enjoy the views. This is one of the most memorable holes in Cyprus.
Hole 7: Par 3
The signature hole. From an elevated tee, you play across the ravine to a sloping green on the far side. It's all carry, so commit to your club! The path down to the tee follows an old mountain-goat track, adding to the drama.
The Clubhouse
The clubhouse at PGA National Cyprus Championship Course has a large, airy restaurant overlooking the 18th green, plus a well-stocked pro shop downstairs and a relaxed '19th hole' bar for a post-round drink.
The five-star Aphrodite Hills Resort Hotel is just a three-minute walk away, so you're never far from your next tee time or your next meal.
