Overview

Mar Menor Golf Club is a tale of two halves - and that's exactly what makes it so much fun. Set just outside Torre-Pacheco, a few kilometres from the famous Mar Menor lagoon, it pairs a tight, strategic front nine with an open, lake-filled back nine. Whether you're a low handicapper or here for the sunshine and the 19th hole, Mar Menor Golf Club is a great choice for a Murcia golf break!

The Course

The front nine at Mar Menor Golf Club was designed by Dave Thomas, with Nicklaus Design adding the back nine to complete 18 holes. The course measures 6,153 metres (6,729 yards) from the back tees and plays to a par of 72 - a par-37 front nine followed by a par-35 back nine.

The contrast is clear from the first tee. The front nine has little rough, but bunkers and water guard the greens, so accuracy into the putting surfaces is key. After the turn, the fairways widen and the Nicklaus influence shows, with water coming into play more and more. We love the variety - no two holes feel the same!

Signature Holes

Hole 14 - The Lake
The heart of the course's biggest challenge. The large lake that wraps around holes 13, 14 and 15 is never far from your mind here, so pick a safe target, commit to the shot and keep your ball dry!

Hole 15 - Lakeside Approach
The final test of the lake stretch. Water sits alongside the hole, rewarding a confident, accurate approach and punishing anything loose. Walk off with a par here, and you've done the hard part!

The Clubhouse

The clubhouse at Mar Menor Golf Club is modern, relaxed and welcoming, with a restaurant, bar and terrace views over the course. It's the perfect spot to grab a bite before your round or settle the scores afterwards.

With a pro shop, locker rooms, club hire and a spa all on site, everything is set up to make your golf break easy.

The Location

Mar Menor Golf Club is located at Mar Menor Golf Resort, about 4 km from Torre-Pacheco and around 5 km from the Mar Menor lagoon, Europe's largest saltwater lagoon. Region of Murcia International Airport is roughly 30 minutes away by road and Alicante Airport is around an hour, making transfers quick and easy. The historic port city of Cartagena is about 20 minutes' drive, and with several other excellent courses close by plus more than 300 days of sunshine a year - it's an ideal base for a multi-course golf break on the Costa Cálida.
