Overview
La Manga Club South Course is the jewel in La Manga's crown. It's the resort's championship layout, a former Spanish Open venue, and the course most golfers come here to play. Set beneath the hills of the Murcia coastline, with views across the resort, La Manga Club South Course offers a serious test in a stunning setting. If you're planning a golf break in Spain, this one belongs on your list!
The Course
Designed by Robert Dean Putman and opened in 1972, La Manga Club South Course was later remodelled by the legendary Arnold Palmer. It measures 6,499 metres (7,107 yards) from the back tees and plays to a par of 73. The fairways are gently rolling and easy to walk, but don't be fooled, lakes, ponds and natural barrancas come into play throughout.
Length matters here. So does accuracy. The front nine features two par 3s of over 200 metres, while the back nine asks you to fire approach shots over water. We think it's the complete test - and the history makes every birdie feel that little bit sweeter.
Signature Holes
Hole 3 - Par 3
A long par 3 of more than 200 metres played over water to a well-guarded green. Pick the right club, make a confident swing and enjoy the moment; find the putting surface here and you've earned it!
Hole 18 - Par 5
A spectacular finishing hole in the shadow of the Grand Hyatt hotel. Water lines both sides of the fairway and a ravine sits short of a well-protected green. Go for it in two? Only if you're feeling brave!
The Clubhouse
The golf clubhouse at La Manga Club South Course is the social heart of the resort's golf. Expect a warm welcome, a well-stocked pro shop and a relaxed terrace for a post-round drink while you watch groups finish on the 18th.
With the Grand Hyatt, restaurants and bars just a short walk away, everything you need for the perfect golf break is right on the doorstep.
