Campo Real Golf Course

This highly-rated course is no joke. People flock from all over to experience the difficult terrain, which tests their navigation and improves their game.

It's a tournament-hosting course for a reason, so don't underestimate it. The mixture of hazards and three consecutive par-5s at the end of the round will challenge everybody from the seasoned pro to the beginner duffer.

Course

The opener is dying for scorchers off the tee. It's a lengthy par-5, with a generous fairway, so open up your shoulders and make your driving range practice count--but watch out for the lake to the right.

On the 5th, a large dogleg left hides the dancefloor, so aim slightly towards the right of the fairway to remove the angle. Use a long iron to cover the yardage from here and hit the pin.

At the end of the front nine, your short game is tested. After clearing the water hazard, beware of the trees (don't be a lumberjack), then the large green is easily reachable. A par here should earn a pint at the 19th.

It's not an easy finish. A par-5 with a tight dogleg protects the green, so prepare to cover some yardage with your driver. Once you've cut the angle, the path to the dancefloor narrows, so favour accuracy over distance. Don't bottle it on the 18th!

Clubhouse

A classic European 19th. If your idea of the perfect clubhouse is a sun-soaked terrace, ice-cold Sagres, Portuguese wine, and a diverse menu that includes snacks and fine dining, then you've found it.

Overlook the 18th hole where you sank the winning putt, sip your favourite beverage, and enjoy your bragging rights as the champ.
