Top hint for this course

We want to let you in on a little secret. On the 7th, this par-3 may seem tempting to drive straight onto the dancefloor but we recommend a far more reserved approach. If you tee off to just short of the green, you'll avoid landing in the bunkers and have an easy approach shot. From there, if the approach is good, you may be in for a birdie opportunity.

Course Top Tip

Overview

Dalmahoy East is favoured by many in Edinburgh because of its PGA Tour history. Also, the Scottish terrain presents many challenging slopes and hilly grounds.

This famous course should be near the top of your Scotland golfing bucket list. So, why not get organised, get the gang together and see who can reign supreme on the PGA-worthy loop?

Course

From tee-off, a par-5 lays ahead. This stretch has several bunkers on either side of the fairway, as well as three guarding the green. Driving down the middle is recommended from tee off, with a careful second shot to avoid the surrounding bunkers.

At the end of the back nine, and harsh dogleg right hides the green. Hitting a great drive towards the left of the fairway could set up a second shot. The dancefloor will be visible if you hit a scorcher off the tee.

The final hole is a relatively short par-5 that requires a central drive avoiding the row of trees to the left of the fairway. The main trouble is the two bunkers on either side of the green. Layup just short of the green for a sweet approach shot, then put the game to bed by sinking the putt.

Clubhouse

This 19th hole offers a lot more than your average clubhouse does. The upstairs area, known as the James Braid Bar & Brasserie, has many options for dining. From a bacon sandwich and Starbucks coffee for the dawn patrol golfers, to a range of comforting meals throughout the day to the evening.

Many golfers enjoy the BBQ area that is open on the balcony through the warmer months. Sit outside with a pint in hand and get stuck into some burgers and hotdogs to line your stomach whilst watching the live sport broadcasted on the big screens.
