Overview
Blairgowrie Golf Club is the kind of place golfers fall in love with. Founded in 1889 and tucked into the Perthshire countryside, it offers two very different championship courses through peaceful woodland, where every hole feels like its own private world. If you're planning a Scottish golf trip, Blairgowrie is the perfect inland contrast to the famous east coast links!
The Courses
The Rosemount Course is the club's original and most celebrated layout. Old Tom Morris laid out the first nine holes in 1889, Dr Alister MacKenzie (the architect of Augusta National) extended it to 18 holes in 1923, and James Braid completed his remodel in 1934. Measuring 6,919 yards from the back tees and playing to a par of 72, it has generous fairways and large, undulating greens. Greg Norman won his first European Tour event here, the Martini International, in 1977.
The Lansdowne Course opened in 1979 and was designed by Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas as a contrast to Rosemount. It also plays to a par of 72, at 6,913 yards from the back tees, but the fairways are tighter and the greens are smaller, so accuracy from the tee is everything. It has hosted the Scottish Amateur Championship and many low handicappers rate it the tougher of the two!
Both courses wind through avenues of pine and silver birch with heather lining the fairways, and you'll often spot deer and other wildlife along the way. There's also the 9-hole Wee Course, perfect for a warm-up or a relaxed evening round.
Signature Holes
Rosemount Hole 17: Par 3, Plateau
At around 165 yards, the Plateau is one of Scotland's most highly rated par 3s and the toughest hole on Rosemount. The huge, severely tiered green means hitting the right level is just as important as hitting the green itself.
Rosemount Hole 18: Par 4
A 402-yard dogleg finishing in front of the clubhouse, with a two-tier green to test your nerve. Your playing partners can watch from the terrace, so make it count!
The Clubhouse
Blairgowrie's award-winning clubhouse is open seven days a week and is the perfect place to relax after your round. The bar serves seasonal cask ales, premium beers and lagers, a fine gin collection and a good range of wines.
The patio terrace looks out over the 1st tee and 18th green of the Rosemount course, ideal for a drink in the sunshine while you watch groups finish. Food is served throughout the day.

The Location
Blairgowrie Golf Club is located at Rosemount, just south of the town of Blairgowrie in Perthshire, around 15 miles north of Perth. Dundee is roughly 40 minutes away by car and Edinburgh Airport is around an hour and a quarter. It's about 45 minutes inland from Carnoustie, making it easy to combine with the famous links courses of Scotland's east coast, and it sits on the main route north to the Highlands.
