Top hint for this course

We're going to spoil you with a secret for the course. On the 4th, it's a tiny par-3. With a downhill drive off the tee, we recommend that you under club. Not only does this take the slope into account but a small forest sits behind the green, meaning you'll lose your ball if you overhit.

Course Top Tip

Overview

Are you a group of beginners desperate to play a links? (A traditional style course with difficult coastal terrain). Holywell is your answer. It's the rare combination of an executive course and a links terrain. At under 4,000 metres in length, the guys can play a short but challenging round that provides many hazards for everybody to enjoy.

Nobody will leave without being tested on the well-maintained greens. Your short game will level up. So, organise a trip for the ultimate beginner's links and find out who's the champ at sinking putts, and whose ball is afraid of the dark.

Course

The opening of the front nine is a par-4 that holds risk and reward. Driving long towards the dancefloor could see your ball find the out-of-bounds, so laying up to the left side of the green will present a better approach shot.

The 7th favours a drive down the right side of the fairway. Anything far left will see an out-of-bounds, risking adding to your scorecard. Aiming to the right while avoiding the mounds will see an excellent attempt at the hole.

The 13th hole will be a favourite for the big swingers. A clean scorcher off the tee should find a second approach shot for the dancefloor, which could be a great par opportunity. The penultimate hole also allows for huge drives. Smash it far enough and you might find the green. Although, it is uphill.

Clubhouse

This welcoming clubhouse provides a comforting lounge and two outdoor seating areas, ready for you to count the scorecards. So, gather your bet money and take a look back at the action. Who's the first round of beers on?

The upstairs area provides an excellent Sunday roast, the perfect grub the refuel after walking Cornwall's terrain. Sip some local beers while planning out the action ahead.
