Course
On the opener, the wind often disrupts play. Favour the right of the fairway to avoid the sea and position an easier approach to the pin. However, this green is undulated, so slopes make putting difficult-try to avoid the dreaded three-putt.
The 7th is the shortest hole on the course. Beware, it's not easy. A narrow green, surrounded by six bunkers and slopes makes this difficult: favour accuracy.
On the 12th, a birdie opportunity waits. Use the wind to assist your drive and carry over the initial bunkers down the left and right of the fairway. Aim towards the back of the green on the approach, and that birdie could be yours.
At the end of the back nine, there's no resting. A real challenge to your IQ and club selection throughout the fairway, with an undulating green making putting that little bit more difficult.
Clubhouse
A stunning 19th hole with views of the Bristol Channel. The Bar boasts an excellent range of snacks, beverages, and a wine list. If you're a fan of ale, it would be a waste to not try the club's very own Royal Porthcawl ale.
Guests craving a bite to eat are encouraged to use The Dining Room which offers breakfast, and fine dining, as well as casual meals. Refuel after the round like a champ-you deserve it.
