Top hint for this course
On the 2nd hole, be aware of the wind that usually affects play. Although it's a par-3, choose your club wisely and ensure that you don't flunk it like the rest of your friends.
Full Course Lowdown
Oulton Golf Course is a stunning loop located in the countryside of Leeds. This gem of a parkland course has hazards from water to bunkers dotted across the fairways, while providing challenges for the scratch golfer to the duffer.
Head over to the resort for a swing-and-miss with the squad.
It's rare to find a premium fairway that accommodates the beginner while challenging the so-called "pro", so grab your clubs and enjoy the competition on the green.
Course
The opening hole is a classic par-4. An invitingly wide fairway encourages big hitters to showboat their talent, but avoiding the bunkers surrounding the green might say otherwise…
The 3rd is a par-5 with a dogleg left. It's a meaty fairway, so look to reach the dancefloor with the second. The green has three bunkers dotted around it; your approach should be calculated and accurate.
A par-3 on the 11th sits at 183 yards, with two bunkers at the front of the dancefloor, so choose your approach wisely. Will you play tactically or go for the green in one?
The end of the back nine finishes harshly. A tight dogleg left hides the final pin with tree-lined fairways and the occasional bunker causing issues. The first shot should cut out the dogleg, with the second gaining distance towards the green. Once you land, let your short game do the talking.
Clubhouse
A 19th named after the British Open Championship trophy has got to be special. And what a place it is. With sublime views of the course, golfers flock after their round to enjoy a light snack, some breakfast, a quick coffee or get their fix of swing oil.
The pub classics are perfect for lining the stomach before you start drinking and hit the town later in the evening.

The Location
The fairways are located on the outskirts of Leeds, but this doesn't mean a lack of action. Plenty of restaurants and bars surround the local area, just a walking distance from the course. Likewise, plenty of hotels for all budgets are dotted around.
For a night that goes down in the history books, the answer is Leeds. Only 6.6 miles away, you're guaranteed an all-nighter with bars and clubs open until the early hours of the morning. Make sure you've got some paracetamol packed for this one (you know what we mean…)
