Top hint for this course
Here's a tip for the opener: don't try to cut the dogleg angle, instead, aim down the centre left of the fairway for an easy approach.
Full Course Lowdown
While the West is overlooked because of the East Course, this challenging loop is a true test of golfing IQ, with club selection and accuracy vital throughout the round.
As a classic links layout, expect difficult mounds, earthy terrain, and cruel bunkers to complicate the path to the pin. Will this course expose your skills, or will you boss it?
Course
The 2nd is a par-4, where wind from the coast often affects the carry. Favour the left of the fairway to make life easier on the second. Use that expert IQ.
On the 4th, this par-3 is simple. Use a mid-iron to land close to the pin and avoid the right bunker like a pro.
To close the front nine is another par-3, although this one is no walk in the park. Water guarding the front and bunkers on either side will be a nightmare for duffers.
A par-5 on the 12th features plenty of mounds and bunkers, with a ditch splitting the fairway down the middle. Will you lay up before it or follow the brave and attempt to carry it?
We'll let you decide.
On the 18th, this par-3 is a corker. Avoid the giant mound on the left, keep central, and carry the front bunkers protecting the dancefloor.
Clubhouse
Fuel the lesson you're about to teach your friends with a massive full English or recover after 18 holes with a juicy burger and an ice-cold pint.
