Top hint for this course
If you're playing on the Beeches 9-hole, the 2nd is a tricky dogleg right, so if you're a big hitter, smash the drive past the trees to the right, but beware that overhitting can see in the trees at the end of the fairway. Distance control is key.
Full Course Lowdown
Lincolnshire's gem. An award-winning inland golf course, famous for being modelled around the design of a traditional course, using natural resources with tree-lined fairways, water hazards and undulating greens, Forest Pines is one of England's best.
On top of this, all abilities are welcome while challenging the advanced golfer, so grab your group and tear up these fairways.
Course
Three 9-hole courses feature at Forest Pines: The Forest, The Pines, and The Beeches.
Starting with The Forest feature holes, the 2nd is a dogleg right to left that requires a draw (if you've got that in your locker), with bunkers on the right side of the fairway and trees to the left.
The 5th features an out-of-bounds on the left and bunkers to the right, but for big hitters, the green is reachable in two strokes.
The Pines 3rd is a picturesque, lengthy par-3. Choose your club wisely. If you overhit the green into hazards or under club, you could see your friends get ahead.
The 6th on Pines is an unforgiving par-5. Members and visitors alike often leave scoring a 7 or 8 on this one, despite there being a birdie opportunity if your tactics are on point.
The Beeches Hole 3 is a straightforward par-4 with a sloping green. The approach here is vital, as overhitting your club and missing the green will put you in a world of trouble. Play cautiously and you can laugh at your gang from the green.
Clubhouse
A classic and casual 19th hole with an inviting atmosphere and welcoming staff. The all-day menu means you can grab a bite to eat and enjoy some ice-cold swing oil while you kick back and relax after the round.
Marvel over the view of the 18th from the terrace, top up your tan and count up the scorecards to see which forfeits are in order of the losers.
