On the 8th, favour the left side of the fairway, as the slope towards the right could push the ball towards trouble--approach from the left for success.

Found in the Isla Canela Resort, these fairways are on the border of Spain, next to the Mecca of golf holidays, the Algarve, so we can guarantee sublime weather for your golf trip.

Suitable for a mixed-ability group thanks to the notoriously wide fairways. Yep, big drives galore. Get the gang together and battle it out.

Course

A rare start with a par-3 as the opener is a pleasant surprise, so take advantage. Is this a birdie chance? The wide fairway and open approach make this hole a breeze. Start the round strong.

At the 4th, this par-4 requires a firm drive for the easiest second shot towards the dancefloor. Water splits the fairway, so good luck.

On the 11th, another par-3, anything over-hit will find the water behind the green, so beginners might need to lay up before. If you've got it in your locker, a mid-iron directly to the green will work.

For the 13th, the fairway is narrow, so use a hybrid from the tee box. Favour the left of the fairway to avoid the out-of-bounds before tackling the simple approach.

A par-4 to finish with another birdie chance. Drive down the centre-right of the fairway to remove the dogleg and find the most open path to the dancefloor. Now, sink the putt and celebrate.

Clubhouse

Fresh meat and seafood, simple clubhouse classics, and live sport on a flat-screen TV. What more does a golfer need? It's the perfect venue to celebrate your win.

Grab your favourite ice-cold beverage, laugh with your friends about the blunders, and the bunker horrors, and plan the evening itinerary in this lively 19th hole.

The Location

The Old Course is in an awesome spot.

Huelva, the local town, is packed with hotels and apartments, so it's a breeze to find somewhere to stay.

But, if you're staying in Tavira, look no further than Castro Marim Golf & Country Club Villas, with luxury Mediterranean-style accommodation.

On-site are two 9-hole combinations: Guadiana and Atlantic. Both combinations are exciting skill tests, so you must check these out!

Tavira is top-tier if you love lively cocktail joints and heaving sports bars--head here to party until the early morning.

On top of this, Faro International Airport is just 67.3km away, so you can get to the course soon after landing. Easy.
