Top hint for this course
On the 2nd hole, focus on accuracy over distance from tee off. An out-of-bounds features, with bunkers down the left, a sloping fairway, and an elevated green favour accuracy throughout, rather than aiming directly to the dancefloor too early. Take your time, choose your clubs wisely and play cautiously.
Full Course Lowdown
As it's the easier course of the two at Belton Woods, it's a must for a group of mixed-ability players or a group of beginners looking to conquer their first 18-hole loop.
Take your sweet time here, the fairways and natural hazards have created a testing course that requires a tactical approach throughout the round. It'll be a round to remember.
Course
The 4th hole, a par-3, is one of the signature holes. The green has several levels, so the approach shot is difficult in comparison to others. It's a quick green, so anything other than a delicate putt could see you overhit and miss the pin.
On the 7th hole, a par-5, a dogleg right requires accuracy to carry over the bunkers and cut out the angle to reveal the green. Bunkers surround the green, so chip over them while you watch your friends hit the sand.
The 17th provides a challenge off the tee box. A medium or long iron would cut the mustard as it's a short par-4 where overhitting would see you flunk the round and fall behind.
The closing hole requires a drive down the centre left of the fairway. Afterwards, the green is surrounded by water hazards and bunkers, so pull a perfect chip shot out of your locker and you'll put the round to bed.
Clubhouse
This 19th hole is renowned for its comforting, friendly, and lively atmosphere, alongside a well-rounded menu for golfers to refuel after the graft on the fairways.
Sip on some swing-oil while settling the forfeits for the losers and plan the evening roadmap.
