Overview

Golf de Belle Dune is a standout coastal course in Northern France, laid out through protected dunes, lakes and maritime pines. It's a modern classic-designed by Jean-Manuel Rossi and opened in 1992-with holes that change character as the landscape shifts around you.

If you like variety, you'll like Golf de Belle Dune. Some moments feel links-like and exposed. Others are sheltered and strategic. Either way, you're rarely hitting the same shot twice!

The Course

Golf de Belle Dune is an 18-hole, par-71 layout measuring 5,883 metres from the back tees. The routing moves seamlessly between open dune landscapes and pine-lined corridors, creating constant variation in look and challenge. Wind plays its part, club selection matters, and smart positioning is rewarded. Since 2021, the course has also featured a rare and memorable par 6 at the 15th, adding a genuine point of difference. It's a course that favours thoughtful golf over brute force-and that's exactly why so many golfers love returning to Golf de Belle Dune.

Signature holes

Hole 15 - The Par 6

A true novelty done properly. Long on the card and long in the memory, it asks you to plan your way down the corridor rather than simply lash away. Pick conservative targets, build your score, and enjoy the bragging rights afterwards.

Hole 12 - Dune-backed drama

One of the most photographed moments at Golf de Belle Dune-a short hole framed by dramatic dunes. It's the kind of par 3 that looks inviting… right up until you're standing over the ball.

The Clubhouse

You'll find the practical essentials covered: a practice area/range setup, short-game zones, and the usual golfer comforts like pro shop and facilities for getting set before (and recovering after) your round.

If you're building a Northern France itinerary, Golf de Belle Dune delivers what golf travellers want most: a distinctive setting, proper variety, and holes you'll still be talking about on the drive back.

The Location

Golf de Belle Dune is located on the Picardy coast in Northern France, set within a protected natural reserve close to the seaside resort of Fort-Mahon-Plage. The course enjoys a peaceful, unspoilt setting while remaining highly accessible for UK golfers, with straightforward driving routes from Calais and other Channel ports. Its coastal position brings fresh sea air, open horizons, and ever-present wind into play, adding to the challenge and character of the round. This combination of convenience and natural beauty makes the location a major part of the Belle Dune experience.
