Full Course Lowdown
At over 7000 yards, Ballyliffin is not to be underestimated. If you're looking for an authentic links experience, Gladeshy is among the best; even McIlroy rates it highly.
On-site is a top-class pro shop and state-of-the-art practice facilities to keep you busy before and after your round, whether you want to sharpen your swing or short game.
Course
On the opener, a straight shot off the tee is vital (sorry, slicers!). Anything that avoids the middle bunkers is successful, leaving an open approach to the green.
The pressure is on! Hole 15, a par-4, is the stroke index 1 of the round. Start with a driver off the tee before hitting an approach with a short iron.
As the bunker is guarded by front bunkers low handicaps will use a layup shot.
A par-4 at 451 yards closes the round, with a dogleg right to tackle--land between the first bunkers to set up a winning approach shot from a distance.
Enter the front of the dance floor to avoid the sand and sink the birdie putt.
Clubhouse
Ballyliffin Clubhouse boasts the cosy and welcoming atmosphere the gang will crave after dominating a windy links course.
Enjoy the cracking view as you get stuck into the comprehensive food menu and wash it back with your favourite pint of swing oil.
Count the scorecards--the highest score gets a forfeit!
Afterwards, visit the pro shop that sells the latest equipment and apparel. Why not treat yourself after breaking 90?
