Top hint for this course
A short par-3 with a large lake in the middle makes an approach from the tee box tricky. We recommend carrying over the water towards the left side of the green. Aiming slightly left will either land on the green or set up the easiest approach shot.
Full Course Lowdown
Many consider Praia D'El Rey the most beautiful course in all of Portugal. Architect, Robinson, built a classic American-style course using the natural coastal terrain, so it's one of Lisbon's most challenging in terms of hazards.
Its accolades from hosting European tournaments to featuring in recognised rankings are no joke. Why? Everybody that plays often returns to this gem. It's time to school your friends and experience one of Portugal's crown jewels.
Course
Let's tee off. The layout challenges you from the opener of the front nine. A hard dogleg left hides the green, so you'll need to drive down the centre right of the fairway to set up an easy approach shot onto a fair-sized green. Beware of the two bunkers left and right though.
The 2nd has a dogleg right (slicer's calm down) with bunkers dotted throughout the fairway. Favouring the left of the fairway the entire time is best. If you avoid the bunkers, it's straightforward and a birdie opportunity may be calling.
On the 12th, this par-5 overlooks the Atlantic Sea. While the views are a joy, this hole is not so much. Navigating your way to the dancefloor involves avoiding bunkers to the right, and those surrounding the harshly small green.
Clubhouse
Possibly the fanciest 19th hole you'll ever set foot in, it's like no other. From the luxury bar to the balcony with an excellent view, the clubhouse is one of the ground's many prides.
How about a Black Angus Steak to celebrate whopping the squad on the fairways? Wash this down with a refreshing pint.
The bar serves everything, from classic Portuguese lager to fancy cocktails. It's the luxurious venue your post-game analysis deserves. Take a look back at the action, count up the scorecards, and prepare the hilarious forfeits for the hacker of the round.

The Location
As the course is located in the Praia D'El Rey, most essentials are covered. However, if you choose to stay nearby then Peniche is home to affordable hotels, beach bars, and an excellent range of restaurants serving fresh seafood.
One of Europe's most vibrant cities, Lisbon, is 85.3km away from the golfing resort. Humberto Delgado Airport is 80.4km away, so it's a breeze to get there.
Whether you're looking to explore the amazing architecture, dine at some of Portugal's finest restaurants, or get lost in the buzzing nightlife scene, Lisbon ticks all the criteria. It's also the home of Sagres!
