Dunas Golf Course

One of the only true links courses in Southern Europe, this unique design is recognised as one of the best courses in the world, gaining recognition as the 9th best in Europe within its opening year.

At a staggering 7,268 yards, Dunas is not for the faint-hearted or hackers, the vegetation and sandy dunes disrupting the fairway require careful navigation.

Found in Grandola, on the coast, Dunas boasts year-round playability and warm weather. Lisbon city centre is 137km away for a day trip and the nearest beach is a putting distance from the course.

Course

Hole 4 is a sweeping par-4 at 442 yards. Three bunkers guard the front right side of the dancefloor, so aim left of these bunkers and use a wedge for the approach. Simple, right?

The 16th is a par-4 with a generous fairway, perfect for flexing your driving muscles and competing with your mates. We suggest you take the right side if you're a mid-handicapper, to avoid bunker trouble.

Finally, the last signature hole, the 17th. This 158-yard par-3 requires you to carry over the rough and avoid anything short of the green, so take an extra club.

Clubhouse

Boasting large windows with views of the 9th, a terrace overlooking the 18th, and a well-stocked bar, this 19th is the perfect place to work on your tan and refresh with an ice-cold Sagres.

Outdoor is a multiple-level restaurant, serving fresh Portuguese cuisine, ideal if you want a light bite or a Mediterranean classic to refuel after 18 holes.
