Top hint for this course
On the 4th, a difficult par-4 has bunkers dotted along the fairway, with four of them surrounding the green. While it's reachable in two, the sand traps will make you think twice about your approach. Smash a firm drive to lay up short of the bunkers, making the easiest approach shot.
Full Course Lowdown
A truly overlooked UK golf course, Westerwood's picturesque holes, various hazards, and challenging playability make this an addictive round.
Many golfers flock towards Glasgow to experience the 15th hole (The Waterfall) and show off their skills. Now's the chance to prove you are the champ in front of the squad.
Course
The start of the front nine isn't the kindest beginning. The tee box sits in front of the car park (no pressure), so make the driving range practice count and cut out that dogleg left. Afterwards, with the dancefloor in sight, it's achievable to land and start putting.
The 8th is a par-4 with trees dotted down the middle of the fairway, so aiming your tee off around these will navigate your way to a green with one bunker at the front. Approach carefully.
The signature hole. The 11th, a par-3, has a backdrop of a large waterfall. Talk about perfect golf scenery. It's a straightforward hole with an easy approach to a large green from the tee box. Then, let your short game do the talking.
The closing hole is a par-5, with a narrow fairway that widens towards the end. An accurate drive is required, with a firm second shot to close the distance, before putting the game to bed on the dancefloor.
Clubhouse
After a taxing round, it's time to enjoy some ice-cold swing oil. Get stuck into some Scottish brews and order a 10oz Rib Eye Steak, the meal of champions.
A 19th hole that rewards hard-working golfers with its comforting clubhouse classics and welcoming atmosphere. Kick back and relax while you analyse the action from back on the loop with the gang. It's time to count the scorecards.

The Location
Staying at the Westerwood Spa & Golf Resort is certainly the best option for accommodation. It has all the facilities you could need and it's only 27.2 miles from Glasgow Airport, so getting there would be a breeze.
Glasgow is a UK nightlife titan. The heaving nightclubs, lively bars, and range of different pubs mean you can enjoy the swing oil late into the night. It's just 15.6 miles from the course, so if you're staying in one of the city's hundreds of hotels, then hitting the fairways is as easy as a gimme.
