/ppOverview
Pinnacle Point Golf Club is one of the Garden Route's true bucket-list rounds, set high above the Indian Ocean near Mossel Bay. It's dramatic in the best way-cliff edges, coastal winds, and views that genuinely stop you mid-walk. Pinnacle Point Golf Club was unveiled in November 2006, and the routing was created by Peter Matkovich with input from Open Champion Darren Clarke.
The Course
This is an 18-hole, par 72 championship test that demands respect and smart decisions. From the back tees it stretches to around 7,065 yards, and the layout is defined by its clifftop setting and fynbos landscape. The standout theme at Pinnacle Point Golf Club is variety: you'll move from generous driving corridors to holes that tighten up, then suddenly you're staring at an ocean carry and thinking, "Right… commit!"
Signature holes
Hole 7 (Par 3) is the postcard. You play down to an island-style green perched on a cliff, with the ocean roaring below. It's short on the card, but it's not a pushover-wind and nerves do most of the defending!
Hole 13 (Par 3) is pure theatre and widely framed as the signature moment on the back nine. The green is separated by sheer cliffs and ocean, and the waste bunkers with rocky outcrops make it feel wild and natural. You'll remember this one long after the score is forgotten.
The Clubhouse
The finish at Pinnacle Point Golf Club is strong, because the clubhouse experience matches the setting. Expect a proper golfer's hub with panoramic sea views, plus the key essentials like a well-stocked pro shop and solid practice facilities to dial things in before you tee off. It's the kind of place where you'll want to sit down after your round, replay the cliff holes shot-by-shot, and book your next tee time while you're still buzzing.

The Location
Pinnacle Point Golf Club is located just outside Mossel Bay on South Africa's famous Garden Route, set dramatically along the rugged Indian Ocean coastline. The course sits high above the sea, offering uninterrupted ocean views and a strong sense of space and isolation, yet it remains easily accessible.
