Top hint for this course
On the 14th, accuracy is vital for this par-3. Anything over-hit or under-hit will find water, so choose your club wisely to find the pin. Hit the right of the green to avoid the left bunker.
Full Course Lowdown
We don't recommend beginners brave these fairways. At 7,165 yards and par-73, nobody will finish the round feeling untested.
Prepare to navigate the parkland terrain, avoid the tree-lined tracks and water, and challenge your IQ. Are you worthy of a course designed by Open and US Masters champ Mark O'Meara?
Course
The round begins with a lengthy 530-yard par-5. An open fairway invites scorchers off the tee, but don't get carried away, and hit the 225-yard bunker. Hit a lay-up on the second for an easy approach.
On the 5th, this par-4 features a slight dogleg left and a horrendous path to the green. Eight bunkers guard the front, so we'll let you decide how to handle it…
At the end of the front nine, another par-4 with a dogleg waits. Favour your driver for this uphill fairway and beware of the bunkers at the halfway landing point. Harsh.
Don't use the fancy balls you were gifted in your Christmas stockings for this one. This par-3 features an island green at 180 yards from the tees. Carry the drink and sink the putt.
A lovely, open par-4 closes the round. Use the generous fairway, clear some serious yardage, and avoid the bunkers at the end for an easy par.
Clubhouse
This 19th has an interior like a cosy whiskey bar, which guarantees the perfect space to unwind, discuss the action from the round, and enjoy your favourite beverage.
Indulge in the unmatched menu, whether it's a juicy Irish Wagyu beef burger or a massive 18oz T-bone steak--the meal of champions. Forget your average clubhouse sandwich.Course Facilities

The Location
Carton House Hotel is on-site meaning you can stay and play to your heart's content.
On top of this, the Montgomerie Course neighbours O'Meara, so you're spoilt for choice if you stay at the hotel.
However, the local area is packed with hotels for all pockets, so it's simple to find somewhere else to stay if you're on a budget.
Dublin is rich in outrageous golf courses.
Tick Luttrellstown Castle, The Island Golf Club or Jameson Golf Links off your bucket list.
At 28.2km away is Dublin. Prepare for a positive culture shock: live music, vibrant nightlife, heaving cobbled streets, ancient pubs, and welcoming bars serving creamy Guinness.
That's not too bad for those evening celebrations after the fairways…
Dublin Airport is 31.1km from the course, so it's easy to head to your accommodation and tee off soon after landing.
