Top hint for this course

Check out this top tip we've got for you. On the 6th, drive down the left of the fairway. This will help set up a nice second shot, avoid the first bunker, and create a much easier angle for the approach than the rest that favour the right.

Full Course Lowdown

It's one of the most famous loops in the whole of Southern Spain, so be sure to bring you're a-game on this one. The German architect crafted a traditional loop that hosts many challenges from the elevated greens to the many hills that will make you question your usual club selection.

If you're looking for a course slightly on the shorter side, with a rich heritage, and many challenges for the squad then you should tick this one off your bucket list. It's a testing field for anybody.

Course

Atalaya Golf Club are constantly improving and upgrading this loop while maintaining its original characteristics. Judgement is key throughout, and nobody will leave unchallenged.

The 2nd hole is a difficult and testing par-3. The green harshly narrows, making any attempt to land from a distance being a test of complete accuracy. Bunkers lay on either side too. Meanwhile, the 4th is a tricky dogleg right. Make sure your drive favours the left to set up an easier second shot.

Similarly, at the start of the back nine, a dogleg left guards the dancefloor. Be sure to drive down the right side of the fairway. A looping shot should then clear the bunker protecting the green.

Clubhouse

The two courses at Atalaya Golf Club share the same clubhouse. An excellent 19th hole that has a welcoming and lively atmosphere for golfers to unwind after a round.

Have a pint in hand while selecting some Spanish classics off the menu. If you fancy some more common comforts, sandwiches and pizzas are also available. Get counting your scorecards and which loser is getting the first beers in.
