Top hint for this course

Here's a tip for the 18th. Drive towards the right-hand side of the fairway, near the ledge, for the best possible view of the green. The second shot is downhill, so use distance control.

Full Course Lowdown

A historic course in South Wales, and one of Wales's finest fairways. This parkland track provides a tough yet exciting challenge for any golfer, regardless of skill. Prepare yourself for the luxury greens-will you be exposed or complimented?

It's time to host your very own Welsh PGA Championship; grab your clubs, get the squad together and tackle the many tests.

Course

The first, a par-4, is an easy start with a birdie opportunity. If you favour the right, and avoid the bunkers on the second shot, this hole could be a breeze. A birdie on the first hole deserves a pint if you ask us…

On the 4th, a classic risk-reward scenario adds to the intensity of this par-4. Will you attempt to reach the green in two or play cautiously, and lay up before the water?

A par-5 if you play off the back tee. At the end of the back nine, prepare for a challenge. Take an extra club and aim for the bottom of the hill for a shorter approach to the green.

Now for a par-3 on the 14th. Take enough club to carry the water and favour accuracy, as anything left will end up taking a swim.

For the 17th, open up your shoulders and hit a scorcher from the tee. Who can drive the furthest? The green is reachable in two, but make sure you avoid the fence to the right. Next, hit the green and get putting. Don't bottle it on the penultimate hole.

Clubhouse

A truly classic, no-frills 19th with reasonably priced classic clubhouse comforts. From the breakfast menu for the dawn patrol to the scampi and chips or burgers, there's something for everybody to enjoy.

Grab a well-earned pint, discuss the action from the loop, and plan out the antics for the evening.
