Top hint for this course
On the 8th, be aware that a large pond lies directly in front of the green. As it's a par-4, many hit the water hazard, so use a shot to set up a layup to chip on to the green.
Full Course Lowdown
Since its establishment in 1976, members and visitors have constantly returned to Telford Golf Course because of its awesome fairways that provide a unique and fun round in comparison to others.
It's an excellent course that's overlooked by keen golfers in the UK, so grab your clubs, get the gang together, and try out this underrated loop. Show Telford what you're made of.
Course
Plenty of signature holes feature and a wide range of hazards keep even the scratch golfer on their toes.
Teeing off with the opener, the tree-lined fairway creates a slight dogleg right, hiding the pin from the start. A bunker down the far left of the fairway will trouble drives in that direction, so favour the right to expose the dancefloor where you can approach from the second stroke.
The 7th is a straightforward par-3, so it encourages you to showboat and get that birdie you were bragging about. Just avoid the bunker front left and you'll be sinking that putt easily.
On the 15th hole, a pond lies on the corner, meaning navigating the fairways rather than aiming straight for the green is sensible. Drive centre left of the track, then use the second shot to approach the green. If the drive was sweet, this should be a breeze.
The end of the back nine is a par-4, reachable in two strokes. Apart from the bunker to the right of the green, there are no other hazards, so no excuses, unfortunately. Land on the dancefloor and then put the game to bed-you've earned that swing oil.
Clubhouse
The Gorge Bar and Lounge is famously an excellent place to sit back, relax on the outdoor terrace, and enjoy that sweet victory pint while you enjoy the bragging rights from the loop.
Draught beers, ales and a comforting menu crammed with clubhouse classics will help you relax in the informal and lively setting before heading out and hitting the town-a golfer's paradise.
