Overview

Welcome to Prestwick Golf Club, the legendary links where The Open Championship began in 1860. Designed by Old Tom Morris and opened in 1851, Prestwick isn't just a golf course-it's a piece of living history. Every step echoes with the spirit of the game's greats. If you love golf, this is a must-play. Full stop.

The Course

Prestwick Golf Club is an authentic Scottish links, stretching 6,908 yards (6,317 metres) from the championship tees with a par of 71. Don't be fooled by the length-it's a clever and challenging layout. Deep pot bunkers, rippling fairways, and coastal winds all come into play. It's strategic. It's old-school. And it's brilliant.

You won't just need power-you'll need imagination. It's golf the way it was meant to be played!

Signature Holes

Hole 3 - The Cardinal (Par 5)

A devilishly clever hole. The fairway snakes beside the fearsome "Cardinal" bunker-massive and unforgiving. Water hazards and railway lines bring drama. A true test early in the round!

Hole 17 - Alps (Par 4)

One of the oldest existing golf holes in the world. Blind approach over a massive dune to a hidden green guarded by the deep "Sahara" bunker. Pure links magic.

The Clubhouse

The Prestwick Golf Club clubhouse is warm, welcoming, and full of charm. Historic photographs, original artefacts, and classic hospitality await. You'll feel part of something special the moment you step inside. Grab a post-round dram, share stories, and soak up the legacy.
