Top hint for this course

On the 14th, a par-4, people get ahead of themselves and try to clear the water. We recommend aiming between the start of the water and the bunkers for the easiest approach shot. Club selection is vital.

Full Course Lowdown

Quinta da Ria is one tough course. Although the terrain is flat, which can be deceiving, you shouldn't underestimate it.

With bunkers and water hazards throughout the round, each hole will require careful planning and IQ, so it's a great test of your skills. Some might be exposed here. Grab the squad and get into the swing of things.

Course

The 1st will test your accuracy from the get-go. Aim between the two bunkers, then hit a precise second shot to find the dancefloor. Short hitters might need a lay-up, the bunker positioning is unforgiving.

On the 7th, clear some yardage with your driver. For those who bring their a-game, there's a possible birdie. Avoid the bunkers and you're sorted. Any birdies deserve a pint at the 19th.

Now for the start of the back nine. It's an awkward par-4, with strategically placed bunkers and a lake. Aim slightly right of the bunker - but land before the water for an easier approach.

On the 17th, a par-3 has a large dancefloor, but it's not simple. Water to the right and a bunker to the left of the green means you might need a mulligan. It can be a nightmare.

The final pin is harsh. Maintain accuracy-you can't let it slip on the last hole, so favour precision over distance, avoid the bunkers, and navigate the fairway with zig-zag golf.

Clubhouse

Prepare for an unreal experience of Portuguese cuisine. Visiting before the round starts and need some fuel? Tuck into the English Breakfast. Starving after a blinder on the fairways? Enjoy a juicy beef burger.

This 19th hole has something for everybody, so grab an ice-cold pit, sit on the terrace, top up your tan and plan the evening.
