Top hint for this course

The 12th is a tricky downhill par-4. It's best to under-club for this one, taking the hill into account and favouring accuracy over distance to avoid the four bunkers. Aiming to the right of the fairway will set up the nicest approach shot.

Full Course Lowdown

If you've got a bucket list for England, playing one of the finest in Lancashire is a must. Its unique design that creates different challenges on each hole attracts golfers from all over the UK.

Who will survive the challenges? Who will be the one raging? It's time to step up.

Course

The 1st hole is a nice start to the loop. But, be warned, you're teeing off with an audience (no pressure). It's a straightforward hole with bunkers that shouldn't trouble a drive down the centre. The green is also large, so the approach is easy.

The end of the front nine is a golfer's dream. A lovely par-3 that only requires a delicate tee-off to make the dancefloor to another large green. The size of the green might make the putting a little harder, but it's a great opportunity to score low.

On the 15th, a hard dogleg left means you'll need a drive towards the right of the fairway. Make sure it comes short of the bunker, and it'll be a sweet approach shot. Then, whip out the putter and let your short game do the talking.

The end of the back nine has many beaches to avoid. It may require a slight zig-zag approach to avoid the bunkers, but if you're feeling brave, you can aim straight for the green.

Clubhouse

Head on down to the Tempo. It's an opportunity to get stuck into an artisan pizza or a large, juicy burger to celebrate trumping the round. Grab a drink and analyse the action.
