It was hot for the rest of the trip.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It was my second time in the Algarve, so I knew some of the courses were amazing.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I was pleasantly surprised by the presentation of the <a href=\"https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/courses\/algarve-millennium-vilamoura\">Millennium Vilamoura Course<\/a>, the greens were some of the best I&#8217;ve seen.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Courses Did You Play? \u26f3<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"620\" height=\"380\" src=\"https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/guides\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/getting-there.jpg\" alt=\"groupiagolf-go-to-the-algarve\" class=\"wp-image-591\" srcset=\"https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/guides\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/getting-there.jpg 620w, https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/guides\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/getting-there-300x184.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The Millenium was brilliant and surpassed our expectations.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The <a href=\"https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/courses\/algarve-old-course-vilamoura\">Old Course Vilamoura<\/a> was one of our favourites. It had a bit of maintenance work going on for the path improvement, but we still loved it.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/courses\/algarve-quinta-do-lago-south-course\">Quinta do Lago South<\/a> was a great course and we loved the various levels the course is set on. The greens were not as good as Millenium or the Old Course but still enjoyable.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/courses\/algarve-pestana-vila-sol\">Vila Sol<\/a> was more impressive last year because we were not put on the championship 9-hole combination (Prime &amp; Challenge) but played Challenge &amp; Prestige instead.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Which Course Was the Hardest?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It was definitely Quinta do Lago South.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;There are lots of different levels and water throughout, so you had to be dialled in on your yardages to hold the greens.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Which Course Was the Easiest? \u2705<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"620\" height=\"380\" src=\"https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/guides\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/what-course-was-easiest.jpg\" alt=\"groupiagolf-go-to-the-algarve\" class=\"wp-image-592\" srcset=\"https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/guides\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/what-course-was-easiest.jpg 620w, https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/guides\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/what-course-was-easiest-300x184.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I wouldn&#8217;t say any were easy.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Millennium favours the high handicapper with wider fairways and more &#8216;miss&#8217; areas.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Were the Clubhouses Like?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The clubhouses were great and they had everything you could need.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Were the Practice Facilities Like? \ud83c\udfcc\ufe0f\u200d\u2642\ufe0f<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"620\" height=\"380\" src=\"https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/guides\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/practice-facilities.jpg\" alt=\"groupiagolf-go-to-the-algarve\" class=\"wp-image-593\" srcset=\"https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/guides\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/practice-facilities.jpg 620w, https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/guides\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/practice-facilities-300x184.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Quinta do Lago, Millennium, and Old were all great.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Vila Sol&#8217;s practice area needs some work, it looks very tired and warn.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Advice Would You Give to Algarve Newcomers?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Play Millenium!&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s not deemed a premium course and charges a lower green fee, but we loved it and I would certainly like to play there again.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Did You Hire a Buggy or Walk? \ud83d\udeb6\u200d\u2642\ufe0f<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We got buggies on all 4 days.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;They are not cheap, at \u20ac50 a pop, but between 2 it&#8217;s not too bad and gives you a good base for drinks, food, shades and even a little speaker.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Accommodation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"620\" height=\"380\" src=\"https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/guides\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/what-to-do.jpg\" alt=\"groupiagolf-go-to-the-algarve\" class=\"wp-image-594\" srcset=\"https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/guides\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/what-to-do.jpg 620w, https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/guides\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/what-to-do-300x184.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We stayed at the <a href=\"https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/resorts\/algarve-hyatt-regency-vilamoura\">Hyatt Regency Vilamoura<\/a> and the facilities were brilliant.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It has everything you need: a good bar, an outdoor pool, a spa, and a great breakfast area.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s right next to a bar called &#8216;The Caddy Shack&#8217; that shows all the sport, which is great.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Was the Travel Between the Course and Accommodation \ud83d\ude97<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It was very easy.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The shuttle bus to both courses and Vila Sol comes with the hotel and Quinta do Lago come and pick you up for free with their green fees.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It was around 15 &#8211; 30 minutes depending on the course.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It was either a golf shuttle or private shuttle.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Any Non-Golf Activities?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"620\" height=\"380\" src=\"https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/guides\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/what-to-do-2.jpg\" alt=\"restaurant\" class=\"wp-image-595\" srcset=\"https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/guides\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/what-to-do-2.jpg 620w, https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/guides\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/what-to-do-2-300x184.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We went for two good meals away from the harbour just to mix it up.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The first was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.restauranteretinto.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\">Retinto<\/a>, just a 10-minute walk from the hotel with a great selection of meat and wine.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Our second meal was at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parrillanatural.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\">Parrilla Natural<\/a>, a great outdoor venue with a lively atmosphere. The fillet steak was amazing and the wine list was exceptional.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Package Would You Recommend?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I would do a <a href=\"https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/packages\/dom-pedro-portbelo-3-nights-3-rounds\">three-night and three-round package<\/a> around Dom Pedro, which is perfect for a golf trip.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;If you wanted to bolt on some of the Algarve&#8217;s premium courses, I would go for a 4 or 5-night stay, like our <a href=\"https:\/\/groupiagolf.com\/packages\/hyatt-regency-vilamoura-4-nights-4-rounds\">Hyatt Regency Vilamoura package<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When we asked everybody in the office, &#8220;Who wants to go on a golf trip to the Algarve?&#8221;, Steve was already cleaning his clubs.
