Today, on a sunny November afternoon, we met with Coque Insua, head pro at the forward-thinking T-Golf in Majorca, (2 excellent courses on the island).
Coque’s a passionate golfer and a well-recognised pro.
Signor Insua has been dedicated to teaching at the top level for many years, he now additionally runs one of the most-followed Instagram channels for online golf lessons.

Let’s start with the big one, what’s your handicap?
-1.
Favourite club?
The sand or lob wedge. I love to teach all the shots around the green.
Your best round?
My best round was an impressive -6 in Golf Son Servera, I had the course record until the course was renovated.
Any hole-in-ones?
Yes, I’ve played a hole-in-one! Actually, I did it 3 times.
Often heard golfing excuse?
The most common lie I hear on the course: when hitting the ball too short of the green the player tells me: “Oops, I took a 9 instead of a 6 iron.” (We all know it was a 6-iron but he played a really bad shot.)
Favourite golf saying?
“Golf is not about perfection, it’s about consistency.”
Tell us a little more about you & your courses …
I work at two incredible courses: T Golf Calvià and T Golf Palma.
T Golf Calvià, one of the oldest courses on the island, was established in 1978 it underwent a spectacular renovation in 2018.
It’s known for its stunning layout, combining lush fairways, Mediterranean pine forests, and breathtaking views of the Tramuntana mountains.
The course is a challenge for all levels, with its fast greens and strategic bunkers. We have twice hosted the Final of The Road to Mallorca Challenge Tour.
T Golf Palma, located just minutes from the airport, offers a completely different yet equally exciting experience.
The course is beautifully designed, with narrower fairways and smaller green but tricky and exceptional conditioning, making it a favourite among locals and visitors alike.
Both courses are complemented by excellent facilities, including a pro shop, practice areas, and top-notch restaurants.
The best feature of both courses is their design: they perfectly balance natural beauty with technical challenges, ensuring that no two rounds are ever the same.
Best time of year?
The best time to play here is spring or autumn because the weather is perfect, the courses are in prime condition, and Mallorca is at its most beautiful.
However, the mild winters on the island also make for excellent golf conditions year-round.
Favourite hole?
My favourite hole at T Golf Calvià is the par-4 10th, with its challenging layout and panoramic views of the course and the famous windmill.
This may be the hardest hole I’ve played in my life.
At T Golf Palma, the par-4 15th is a personal favourite.
You can play a very different hole depending on the wind and the shot to the green is pretty hard but also fun.
The hardest part of the game?
Without a doubt, the mental game.
I know many players who can hit the ball really well on the range but can’t play well enough when they get on the course.
Other Favourite Courses
In Mallorca, my other favourite course is T Golf Calvià, and in Europe, it’s PGA Catalunya.
What else would you recommend to visitors on a golf trip?
For a golf weekend on the island, I also recommend exploring charming villages like Valldemossa or Sóller, enjoying a seaside dinner, and relaxing on one of our stunning beaches.
Palma has all that you need to spend a few days enjoying its food, city, people and weather. Mallorca is so much more than just golf!
