A Perfect 3-Day Golf Getaway in the West Midlands: A Golf Trip to Remember
If you’re looking to combine stunning golf courses, cosy accommodations, and a bit of British countryside charm, the West Midlands has everything you need. A recent 3-day golf trip to the area, staying at the renowned Forest of Arden Resort, was nothing short of unforgettable. From the iconic Belfry Hotel & Resort to the lush greens of the Forest of Arden, this trip had the perfect blend of challenge, relaxation, and fun.
Day 1: The Brabazon Course at the Belfry – A Bucket List Course

We kicked things off with a round at one of the most famous golf courses in the UK – the Brabazon at the Belfry. Home to numerous Ryder Cups, this course is known for its tricky layout, challenging water features, and thick rough. From the first tee, you’re instantly reminded why this course is held in such high regard. The fairways are wide, but the strategic placement of water and bunkers means every shot counts.
The signature 10th hole is a real highlight, requiring a tricky carry-over water to reach the green. It’s a great test of your nerves – and your golf skills! After finishing the round, we headed into Sam’s Bar for a well-deserved meal and a few games of shuffleboard, before heading over to the Forest of Arden Resort.
Day 2: A Round at the Aylseford Golf Course – Stunning and Serene

Day 2 saw us swapping out the legendary Brabazon for something a little quieter but equally beautiful – the Aylesford Golf Course. Situated within the Forest of Arden Resort, this course offers a different vibe. It’s just as stunning but with a more relaxed feel, letting you enjoy the scenery without the pressure of big tournaments. The parkland setting with wide fairways and mature trees makes it a peaceful place to play.
The Aylesford isn’t short of challenges either. The strategic water hazards and well-placed bunkers keep you on your toes, but there’s more room to breathe than on the Brabazon. It was a fantastic way to enjoy a more laid-back, yet still competitive, round. By the time we finished, the resort’s cosy atmosphere was the perfect place to unwind. A round of drinks in the clubhouse, followed by a delicious dinner, ended the day on a high note.
Day 3: The Arden Course – A Beautiful Finale

For the final day, we played the Arden Course, also located at the Forest of Arden Resort. If you’re after a course that provides great views and an enjoyable round, the Arden doesn’t disappoint. Its wide-open fairways give it a welcoming feel, but it’s not without its own set of challenges, with some tricky doglegs and greens that demand your full attention.
The course is surrounded by nature, which adds a serene touch to the experience. The slightly less demanding design compared to the Brabazon meant we could relax, take in the views, and finish the trip on a relaxed note. By the time we finished our round and packed up to leave, we couldn’t help but feel content – a few birdies, a few bogeys, but plenty of good memories.
